What you can expect
We've seen what happens when consultants optimise for looking busy rather than making progress. Our approach is the opposite: opinionated, hands-on, and focused on outcomes over process.
Transparency
We name risks early, not when they become crises. You always know the state of the work, including the uncomfortable parts. No surprises at the end of a sprint.
Pragmatism
The right solution for your context, not the fashionable one. A well-structured monolith often beats a prematurely distributed system. We right-size everything to your team's capacity and your problem's actual complexity.
Momentum
Plans without shipped software are just plans. We measure progress in working code, not reports. Our goal is always to leave your team in a stronger position than we found it.
How we run an engagement
- Discovery. We start by listening: stakeholder interviews, codebase review, and team conversations before any recommendations. Most problems look different up close. Typically 1–2 weeks.
- Plan. Architecture direction, delivery roadmap, and decision criteria. Not a document that sits on a shelf, but a working reference your team can act on. Typically 2–4 weeks.
- Build. We work alongside your team: writing code, leading reviews, attending standups. Engagements range from hands-on development to technical oversight, depending on what's needed.
- Handover. Knowledge transfer is planned from day one, not bolted on at the end. By the time we leave, your team can own and extend the work without us.
Typical cadence
Engagements range from a focused two-week audit to multi-year embedded leadership. Most fit one of these patterns.
Technical Audit (2–4 weeks)
Codebase and architecture review, risk assessment, and a prioritised set of recommendations. Good for teams that need an outside perspective before a major decision.
Project Engagement (1–6 months)
Discovery, architecture or delivery plan, then hands-on build alongside your team. Includes regular check-ins, review points, and a structured handover.
Embedded Leadership
Ongoing technical or delivery leadership as a fractional team member, attending standups, leading reviews, and owning delivery outcomes alongside your people.
